1 Timothy 1:18-20

Continuing the series in 1 Timothy, Shaun extends last week’s message (“the law shows how far you’ve fallen”) to self-justification: we can’t live for our own standards and live to God’s standards, too. This was a problem with the church in the letter, as they put living for God’s law ahead of living in God’s grace. In the end, you can’t get out of accountability to God by arguing that you have a “wonderful personality”.
